A legal disclaimer
Refund policies will be handled in accordance with Canadian laws for interprovincial transactions. Customers in Québec will be subject to Québec policies, while those in other provinces may find some interprovincial laws inapplicable. International laws will be honored, but 'The Art Egg' is not liable for the collection of taxes, duties, customs, or tariffs on purchased items; this responsibility lies with the purchaser.​​
Refund Policy - the basics
Refunds and returns
Because each item is made to order, most products are non‑refundable except in cases of defects or fulfillment errors. This helps keep prices fair and reduces waste from unsellable returns created by print‑on‑demand production.

All items are printed and fulfilled by a third‑party production partner after you place your order, so changes or cancellations are only possible before production begins.

If you need to modify or cancel an order, contact us within 12–24 hours of purchase; after printing starts, the order can no longer be changed or refunded unless there is a defect or error.
Damaged or defective items
If your order arrives damaged, misprinted, or with a manufacturing defect, you are eligible for a replacement or refund.

Contact us within 10 days of receiving your order and include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the item and packaging; this allows a claim to be filed with the producer.

Once the defect is confirmed, you may choose between a free replacement or a refund to your original payment method; in these cases, the producer covers the product cost and you are not charged additional shipping.
Wrong item, size, or address
Our print on demand supplier - generally does not accept returns for size or color exchanges or buyer’s remorse, (provided the goods match the description and are free from defects) - so these scenarios are treated differently from defects.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or design, or changed your mind, returns and exchanges are normally not accepted because each item is custom printed for you.

If an incorrect address was provided and the package is returned, you may request reshipment to a corrected address at your expense; unclaimed returns may be donated or recycled by the producer after a set period.
Returns process
If your situation qualifies under this policy, you will receive instructions by email on how to proceed; do not send items back without contacting support first.

Many print‑on‑demand items do not need to be physically returned for defects, but if a return is required, it must be in original condition and packaging, and return shipping may be your responsibility unless otherwise stated.

Once any required return is received and inspected, approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days, subject to your bank or card issuer’s processing times.

Returning of these artworks is restricted due to the nature of the genre. We take careful measure to package and post it in as reasonable a method as possible, including photographing and filming key elements. For this reason if the purchaser wants to return it, it must be within 7 calendar days of its reception. The shipping costs are the responsibilty of the purchaser.

The quality of the packaging must match the quality of the original shipment. Upon reception of the returned original artwork by the merchant, it will be inspected and thereafter we will refund you the purchased price of the item (approximately 30 days).

The work must be returned in its original condition. Any artwork that has been altered, damaged by improper handling, or customized specifically for the consumer will not be refunded.

Unique pieces & Commisioned work

Unique pieces and Commissioned work is accepted under a written contract and, where applicable, a separate licensing agreement. Due to the custom and personalized nature of commissioned projects, deposits are required, therafter, refunds are generally not available once work has begun. Both parties must agree in writing to any termination of the contract, and any outstanding fees for work already performed must be paid in full at the time of termination. Any goods provided to the artist merchant - for inspiration or development purposes - will not be returned or otherwise compensated for.

Client deposits are fully refundable only if the client cancels before any work has started on the project. If work has already commenced, any partial refund of the deposit will be determined at the artist’s discretion, based on the portion of work completed as of the date of termination. If applicable, starting fees will not be refunded.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the client obtains no licence to use, reproduce, distribute, or modify any work created under a contract that has been terminated. Any use, reproduction, or exploitation of such work without a valid written licence is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action to enforce contractual and intellectual property rights.
