This piece was inspired by a Patrick Watson song of the same name. One of my favourite songs of all time. I am not sure of the exact personal meaning of Mr. Watson, but the themes explored here are: the paradox of freedom found within restrictions. In my opinion these things define good art : Expression needs restraint. Like Pollock's work - at first glance it appears wild and unstructured but what makes it brilliant is that there is restraint and that is what makes it more beautiful.
Like the lyrics of Mr. Watson's song - "you put a big bird in a small cage and he will sing you a song".
