This creature was the first in what would become my "European Safari Series". It was conceived in Calgary - I intended a waitress to be included in this creation. She became a distraction so I removed her. Once she was out of the picture - I saw the purest white linen table cloth, I imagined what a chic french model circa 1980 would eat in a Paris café. In order for the table cloth to appear white, I use white paper and colour the background. It was essential to get the look in her eye right. It needed to convey her desire to appear comfortable and posh despite any discomfort she feels.
