Inspired by the Vespa drivers of Rome, Italy. Swarms of these helmeted gnats appear out of nowhere while you are stopped at any and every intersection. At the hint of a green light they all disappear ahead of you. This is from my continuing series : European Safari. The challenges of fitting the gangly giraffe in a small two wheeled vehicle was taxing, but then again so was the Rhino and Elephant. These works explore the tension between the constraints of society versus personal freedom, and vice versa.
