Inspired by a Patrick Watson song (amazing song btw). Themes of discovering comfort and beauty and our best selves when we are restricted or suffering. When I began this illustration I had no idea how technical it was going to be: which feather comes out of which cage-wire gap, what kind of feather will be where, etc.
